The Computer Science education  was started in Sept. 2002 when center for Computer Science was established.

The center was upgraded to an independent Department Of Computer Science and Information Technology in the year 2011 to perform all the functions related to Computer Science.

The curriculum of the computer Science degree programs covers all aspects of computing, particularly Artificial intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Bases, Numerical Analysis, Computer Architecture, Multimedia, Graphics and other rapidly evolving areas in computer science.

After the success of BSCS  program, keeping in view the requirements of job market and the advancements in computer and networking  the Department initiated Bachelor in Software Engineering (BSSE) and Master In Computer Sciences (MCS) programme in July 2012.
